Summer Destination Wedding

Getting married during the summer is a great excuse to plan a destination wedding, right? Just think about saying “I do” in a warm tropical setting with your closest family and friends- it'll be heavenly! If you've already managed to convince your fiance to have a destination wedding, now it's time to talk logistics. Here are 5 things you should plan for before you jet off to paradise :

Give them enough time

While it's a little late to have a summer destination wedding in 2013- make sure you send your save the dates at least 9 months in advance to give your guests enough time to plan for their accommodations.

How's the weather?

Consider the climate and location when choosing your wedding dress. Sure, you can fall in love with a silk ball gown but it might not be the best option if you're getting married on the beach.

Your gown is a definite carry on

A mistake brides sometimes make is packing their dream wedding dress in their luggage. This is a BIG no-no. Avoid getting your dream dress wrinkled or possibly lost by the airline. Just take your coveted gown in its garment bag and ask the flight attendant to store it in their coat closet.

Wedding planner = your new BFF

A local wedding planner will be the best person to guide and recommend vendors, venues and locations for you. They're also there to smooth out any issues that might come about when planning your big day.

Get there early

Arrive a few days before to take care of any outstanding wedding tasks. And once that's done who says you can't treat yourself to the hotel's spa, right?
