Thankful for Love!

The extravagant wedding might be postponed, but your love isn’t! There is no doubt that 2020 has been a stressful year for many, our very special #JAbrides included. In this season of giving thanks, we are sharing love and light from a few of our 2020 brides who have found the silver linings in less than perfect scenarios. One thing that they all share in common is that their love is surely not cancelled…

#JABride here! Style 88071! I absolutely fell in love with this dress the first time I put it on! I knew that I wanted a mikado silk wedding dress before I even met my husband & this was the first dress I tried on when wedding dress shopping last year! I knew it was my dress from the moment I looked in the mirror because as I got up on that pedestal in the salon, the song we played during my grandfather’s funeral came over the speakers & I took that as a sign that he approved of the dress, too! I didn’t say “yes” that first day, however, I quickly realized that I couldn’t get it out of my head because not only of that “sign” but also because of its classic, timeless elegance that was exactly the look I was going for! This year has been filled with challenges for all, but at the end of the day if you’re married to the one you love, in the dress you love, then everything went absolutely perfectly️. Thank you, Justin Alexander!” - @ctoomey214

“I am THANKFUL, for the simple things in life! For the ability to wake up, go to work at the law firm and help others that don’t have the abilities I have to get the disability they deserve! This year has taught my fiancé and I so much, to never take anything for granted! That is why we are going out of 2020 with a New Year’s Eve wedding day! We wanted to not remember this year as a horrible year, but as a year where we went against all odds and together became one! 💗” - @mmarsee

“My wedding was supposed to be May 16th, then moved to Dec. 5th. Now it’s been moved to 10/16/2021! The silver lining is that our wedding day is still the 16th! We are also hoping things will be a little better in a year and that our guest will be able to relax and enjoy the day.”- @kelseykarp2195

“I am a Covid bride and also a bridal designer and seamstress! I absolutely love Justin Alexander dresses. They’re gorgeous, elegant...and seamstress friendly! Covid has affected so many brides this year, including my own wedding which was scheduled for 7/18/20 rescheduled to 7/17/21. 🤞🏼 I am really grateful for the resilience of the human spirit. Being in the wedding industry as a bridal seamstress I was sure that I would have no work once Covid hit. But to my surprise, after the initial shutdown, brides started planning small intimate ceremonies and the season picked up. I, myself, did that exact thing as well. On my original date this July I gathered my closest family and friends and married my best friend. Although Covid put such a damper on so many aspects of our lives, I am forever grateful that Love Always Wins.” - @sarahbettydesigns

“I got married on October 10th 2020.  Covid-19 definitely had a huge impact on our wedding.  It was a rollercoaster all year as we tried to figure out if we would even be able to have a wedding, and if so, what kind of restrictions we would have to follow.  We were still able to have the ceremony, but with a very limited number of people, so we only chose to invite our closest family members.  About a week before the wedding I woke up feeling really sick and had to be tested for Covid-19 myself, thankfully it came back negative!  In the end, I was just so thankful to marry the love of my life.  After all the ups and downs of the year we knew that the important part of the day was just getting to say "I do".” - @hannah.mckinney_

“COVID causes a lot of issues for our 2020 wedding. Our initial wedding was going to be closer to 130 guests at our venue. We had to cut this by over 50% to be compliant with local health department guidelines. We never imagined having to provide masks for our guests! It also made us alter our honeymoon plans! We were initially supposed to spend two weeks in Thailand traveling all over the beautiful country. However I’m thankful for:

1. I got to marry my best friend and biggest supporter, who is also a hunk!

2. I still got to have my wedding at the venue we picked out, on the date it was scheduled originally.

3. I was able to have closest family and friends by my side on the big day.

4. We are both healthy and doing what we can to help stop the spread of this virus.

There are some silver linings!” - @taytat001

“I am from Switzerland and our wedding was this July during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was a very hard time, we never knew if we could marry or not. At the end we had to change the church (a bigger one) that all our friends and family can share this special moment with us. And it was the most beautiful day! I'm thankful for this year because we have grown stronger together and know that we can always count on our friends. And my Justin Alexander gown was perfect!” - @laurettta89

“2020 bride here (well, now 2021). It was hard to find silver linings for awhile but I’ve realized how supportive my friends and family are. I’ve really realized what my fiancé and I have going is solid. I am also thankful for the extra time to plan because I was apparently slacking a bit. Can’t wait for the 2021 wedding whether there’s 15 or 115 people there.” - @kmulcahy_

“COVID-19 Bride here! My husband and I got married in Bellevue, NE on May 22nd of this year, right when the pandemic was reaching its peak at that time. We made the decision to postpone our reception, but we wanted to still get married on our original date regardless of who could be there. When we had first gotten engaged I had always wanted a small ceremony, but my family was not a fan of that so we did what they wanted us to do. The silver lining, I got my small ceremony that I had dreamt of. The day of was cloudy and rainy, we were going to be forced to get married inside our venue (that was NOT the original plan). Then, the moment we arrived, the clouds broke up and the sun peaked out giving us just enough time to transfer everything outside. We joined our lives forever in front of our families and our closest friends (under 25 people) and it was the best day of our lives. The pandemic gave me my dream wedding We are thankful that we were still able to get married when some others were not able to do so.” - Sidney Christina Moore

“Covid postponed our original wedding date 9th May. We then rebooked for 14th November however last Saturday we were told that the uk would be going into another lockdown so with the help of our amazing family and friends we were able to bring our wedding forward and we finally got married on 4th November! After 12 years together I am thankful to finally call this amazing man my husband. We have been through so much together and he has been my rock through it all!” - @mrs.Danielle.Myers
