Justin Alexander Spring/Summer 2018

We introduced our Spring/Summer 2018 collection on April 20, 2017 with a flurry of flashes and a buzz of anticipation looking expectantly toward a sleek black runway at the Edition hotel in Manhattan. Overlooking Madison Square Park, the venue had an unmistakable air of sophisticated modernism that perfectly complimented the mood of the event.

The seductive piano intro of Marian Hill's "Down" set the stage to usher in a procession of fiercely feminine brides. Bold lips, sleek hair, and meticulously selected black accessories accented each look. Wide-brimmed hats revealed a captivating glimpse of an alluring eye; fishnet masks added a veil of seduction, chic chokers brought a nostalgic nod to the 90s and bold belts had a distinctly unbridled beauty. Each look radiated the allure of the modern bride. She is fearless and beautiful, graceful and bold. She demands a wedding day look that is unexpected, unforgettable, and unmistakably hers.

The event reflected the glamour and elegance of the collection, an ode to the ornate details of the art nouveau movement. The period's artwork was a base for the embroideries, laces and beadworks we developed. The Spring 2018 collection also drew inspiration from 1950s and 1960s classic silhouettes and draped them with modern details and architectural styling with a twist - lavish beading, sleek and modern seaming, stunning illusion bodices and daring black accents.

Justin Warshaw, president and designer, proudly followed the collection down the runway and humbly accepted applause for another season of hard work, dedication, and inspiration. As a third generation in the industry, this collection marked a pinnacle moment in his family's history, one that began in 1946 with veils and head pieces has now become collection reveal that turned every head.

As the music faded, there was a palpable air of excitement knowing that these designs would soon be trading a promenade down the runway for a march down the aisle, a fierce-faced model for a glowing bride, and a flurry of media buzz for a vow, a kiss, and a joyful couple, looking forward to a lifetime of love.

Jaws dropped when the first wedding dress floated down the runway. The geometric pearl and bugle beaded gown with bell sleeves was made for the bride who wants to leave a lasting impression (Style 9896). It is truly a fashion forward work of art. Embody the Art Nouveau movement in Styles 8940 and 8964. Each of these stunning gowns feature intricate lace detailing that won’t soon be forgotten. Style 8940 features tonal beading and the crepe high-low gown gives it edge. Style 8964 highlights the movement with its subtle yet impactful beaded lace jewel neck. The cold shoulder, illusion lace sleeves, and detachable train modernize the wedding dress. A crowd favorite was a beautiful plunging V-neck ball gown in an unexpected color- platinum. This fresh take on color breathed new life into a classic style. Sleek and modern gowns rounded out the show. Standouts include  a satin ball gown with a folded collar sweetheart neckline that showed off the impeccable seaming (Style 9904) and a high-neck fit and flare gown with a modern bow back (Style 9905).

The Spring/Summer 2018 collection can be purchased through authorized retailers worldwide in late Fall 2017. Brides-to-be can find an authorized retailer by visiting www.justinalexander.com. Most wedding dresses are available in sizes ranging from 2-32.
