5 Notes To Know From A Winter Bride

Hi Everyone! I am Tayler, the Social Media Brand Manager for Justin Alexander

I began my journey in bridal in 2014 working as a Stylist! I had always loved weddings, and helping brides find THE most important dress of their lives was such a dream come true... Being around beautiful wedding dresses all day was the icing on top!

In 2016, I got engaged to my hometown high school sweetheart and it was time to find MY DRESS. I was so afraid I wouldn't find a dress that would feel like "mine" after seeing dress after dress tried on over and over again. Sure enough, Justin Alexander came through and in 2017, the style I ended up choosing arrived to the shop just 2 days before my dress appointment.

When I slipped Style 8933 on, it felt like me. I wanted something timeless and classic, nothing too overwhelming, but it had to make a statement. The super modern apron skirt on this fit and flare style provided a unique look, but the clean silhouette kept the classic feel that wanted. The Justin Alexander brand has always felt so regal, yet current, to me and the quality of the gowns is unmatched

I have had my heart set on a Hallmark movie-inspired Winter wedding for as long as I can remember. The warm glow of holiday lights, the cozy feeling of having your family around for the season, warm hot toddy, so many things about this time of the year bring me joy and I couldn’t imagine having our wedding any other season.

That being said, with all of the joy that this season brings, if you live in a Winter-weather climate, you know that there can be some challenges with planning a wedding this time of year.

5 Notes To Know From A Winter Bride:

  1. Bring Warm Shoes and Socks  – If you are anything like me, and you want those Insta-worthy outdoor wedding photos in the snow, you’ll need to ditch the pumps for an insulated shoe with cozy socks. Protect your piggies for the dance floor later on! No one will see your shoes, and you can bring them along for individual photos if need be.

  1. Keep Your Bridesmaids Warm – If you’re asking your maids to trot along with you for those dreamy snow photos, gift them with a shawl, faux fur, or cute matching jackets! They’ll thank you for it later... Bonus! It’s a gift they can ACTUALLY use again.

  1. Pad Your Time For Travel – If your wedding day takes you and your guests to more than one location throughout the day, pad your timeline extra, especially for those who may not be comfortable driving in wintery weather conditions.

  1. “Emergency Kit” Must-Haves – Tissues for runny noses, and hand warmers (bonus points to put them in your shoes!)

  1. The Most Wonderful “Time” Of The Year  – While planning your timeline, factor in the time change (where applicable) and the early sunset this time of year. If you’re planning for outdoor photos, don’t forget to take a peek at the time of sunset when planning.
